Review: I grew up fishing in the Genesee river, as I lived in West Irondequoit. During the fall, the salmon, trout, pike, and walleye is at it's peak. Use spoons, big spinners and diving crankbaits as these will work the best. Having only north of the gorge and the area around the mouth of the river, I cannot comment on anything south of the high falls area. All in all the Genny river is great for all sport fish in upstate NY.
