Nine Mile Creek, a scenic stream noted for trout fishing, extends about twenty-five miles from Otisco Lake in the Town of Otisco, New York. Recently New York State has been stocking the creek with Atlantic salmon as well as trout. The stream runs northward through the villages of Marcellus, New York and Camillus, New York in the Town of Camillus, New York. The creek discharges into Onondaga Lake. The Solvay Process Company since the late nineteenth century until the late twentieth century deposited industrial waste near the creek and lake. Recent reclamation has significantly restored quality in the final stretch of the creek. Farther to the south, the State of New York maintains fishing access sites.
